New Rangers for February 2010
With 3 new Rangers added in January, we're now taking nominations for February's batch.
Simply post in this thread, explaining why you would like to become a Hunter's World Ranger and we'll add you to the poll that will run during February.
The nominations who receive the most public votes will then be added to the Ranger's final list, who will then vote on the final selection.
Good luck everyone.
Don't forget, the more active you are in the forum, the better chance you have of getting voted in!

Re: New Rangers for February 2010
I hereby nominate myself to become a Ranger.
Now, I understand that there are several more before me who has been a member of this community for a longer time and as such is more worthy but I'd still like to put my name in there.
I've been a e-hunter for 10 years starting with the early Deer Hunter titles
I'm from a family of hunters and we hunt roe deer and moose primarily. Roe deer we hunt with both rifle and shotgun depending what time of the year it is. Nothing better then a good huntin dog workin its stuff
I'm not an actual hunter myself. Not due to lack of interest but simply cause I don't trust my aim in all situations and if you don't trust your aim you shouldn't point a weapon against a living being.
Instead, I sit beside in the stand and observe as well as handling the dog and driving the animal manually when we use a drive line (unsure of the word but when you walk on a line through the forest herding the animals).
I have also been a beta tester for another game called Star Trek Online so I'm aware of the necessity of not always doing the "right" thing and most effective but simply try everything cause you want to find the flaws.
I'm very impressed by this project so far.

Re: New Rangers for February 2010
I would like to nominate myself as well.
I have over 40 years experience hunting. I favor bow hunting, but I still rifle hunt as well as shotgun and black powder. I hunt primarily Whitetail and Black Bear and Hog. I also enjoy pheasant hunting and turkey from time to time. I generally salmon or musky fishing in the off season
My E hunting experience started with dh4 and I have been playing ever since. I've also been been a member and on staff for CFO since 2003, as well as a member of BGL since 2004.
I have been a partner in a industry related, software business. In addition to my recovery and re marketing business for the past 10 years and have assisted in software development. So I have a better understanding than the average person of what go's into a project as robust as HW.
I have become involved in participating in the forum my favorite conversation topic is hunting so that comes quite natural for me. I enjoy it. I'm not one to claim I know it all, regardless of age, or prior experience. We never stop learning. I feel that with my real life and E hunting experience, I bring something to the table. I'm looking forward to contributing to HW, if I am given the opportunity.
Thank you for your consideration.

I've just returned from a month long trip to Arizona, and now I feel like I can rightfully apply to be a ranger.

There, in the shadows ... no, it was nothing. Or was it?

Re: New Rangers for February 2010
Well here's my shot at getting the ranger spot for feb.
I have been a hunter since i was 8 years old, starting with just my old red ryder and just help my dad clear the rodents from our shed. My father and I hunt every year , being from newfoundland its been most moose and caribou and the odd berr. I have done deer and elk as well. As for the gaming side of thigns I have playing i think every hunting game there is on the market including the really bad titles that are just too many to mention. I have done some beta testing on some other online games that include mmoprg's and just your reg adventure games. I do send anything i find wrong on any game I play to the developers so they can find the solution. I am currently playing the online game The hunter. To date, its the most realistic game I have played as far as hunting games go. Seems the only complaint on it is that you can't really do much unless you're willing ot buy money and/or memberships, although serveral people on their forums have suggested ways for them to tweak that a little.
Well I guess thats it for me and i am sure with all the input we are gettign for this new adventure in the enity of hunting games, we'll have the best hunting game every that is full realistic in every detail possible.

Re: New Rangers for February 2010
Hey everyone!
This is my second time nominatng myself to be a Ranger, unfortunately i didnt make it last time. Although it was a dissapointment, I understand that the others who have been here longer than me deserve being a Ranger. For the short ammount of time that i have been a part of the HW community, i think I actively participated in the forum a good ammount so far and there will be more to come. I have been a hunter all of my life and have hunted animals from Whitetail to Caribou. I recently bought DH 2005 and I think it was one of the greatest hunting games that i have played so far. I have been anticipating this game ever since i discovered the website and i am anxious to try it out. I will be actively giving my opinions and suggestions to the game because I would like it to be the best it can be. Thanks for the opportunity!

Re: New Rangers for February 2010
I wouldlike to nominate myself to be a ranger. I have played the hunting games about a year, starting with Deer Hunter 5, deer hunting unlimited 9 and at last, but not least --- the Hunter....
I am not a hunter in real life, I dont have a license, but I hunt with my freind as a helper and help to maintenence wildlife on his property. In the hunter game I mostely hunt with the bow and I have been a archery fore some years in my younger days. (not hunting).
I would like to do my best to try out this new game and take part in making it the world best game.

Sorry to interupt you but this won't be enough. We as moderators and rangers has to choose the 3 best potential upcoming rangers... So you have to do something more than this.
Good luck.
Cheers,
Jordy
