Re: The Official Bow Hunters Thread
Hi doublej,
Nice bow, It's all what your used too shooting. I also have a Hoyt Ultra Tec as well as a traditional Bear Grizzly recurve made when Fred was alive and was making bows here in Grayling MI.
I recently (within the last three weeks) started shooting back tension release it has really tightened up my groups. Back tension forces you to slow down and aim, aim, aim.....theirs really no way to rush a shot. Try it sometime if you haven't allready, it's not for everyone but if you can get used to it there is nothing better for accuracy.

Sounds like you all have nice set-ups. I personally shoot a Diamond Marquis. Made by Bowtech. Fast , Quiet and very forgiving. I use a fallaway rest with 3 pin sights. Shoot carbon express weighted arrows with Switchblade broadheads. I have been bow hunting for about 12 years now and have owned several bows. PSE, Hoyt and Bear but i fell in love with this bow at the Pro-shop when i shot it and sold the hoyt and bought the Diamond.

Hi txoutdrsman
I think Diamond is the only Bowtech that is sold outside of Bow Pro Shops. Most of the Pro's shoot Hoyt or Mathews in our part of the country. Hoyt has always made competition target bows.
Over the last two years they have been making fast and accurate paralell limb hunting bows, Since they came out with the Alpha Max, Alpha burner, and Maxis Hunting bows. Mathews flagship bow this year is a Z7 it's a very nice bow. Hoyts new claim to fame is the Maxis 31 and 35. I shot them both when they came out and chose the Maxis. I compete in several leagues a year and the Hoyt Maxis has served me well.
I spoke to a gentlemen that shot every bigame animal there is North America as well as Africa that loves his Bowtech and I'm on a league with a friend that shoots a Diamond and he scores real well.
I heard something pretty interesting from a pro shooter I know. He also owns a couple Pro shops here in SE Michigan he said they took several latter model Brand name Bows and shot them out of (Shooting Machine) and they all shot within a 1/2 inch group. So I guess it call comes down to preference.

Hi everyone. Any Darton fans out there? I use two of these bows for hunting myself. An old Avalanche, and a Pro3800 is my current toy. At work now, so I have no pics, but I'll edit this later on.
