Bow Hunting a Elephant???
Hello All,
Of all the hunting experiences I've been told over the years this one stands out as being one of the funniest I've heard.
I had the pleasure of meeting a builder out of Minnesota that is the epitome of a die hard bow hunter. On a bear bow hunt a few years back. I had heard that he had spent a considerable amount of time hunting in Africa and had bagged a impressive number of Africa's big game animals with his bow.
One day after our evening bear hunt he told me his experience hunting Elephant, he had hired a outfitter that was to be his guide. In preparation for the hunt the guide gave him advice on shot placement, various scenarios and what to expect. Where he expected the herd to be, etc.
Their was one thing the guide put a considerable amount of emphasis on . He told Steve that when he shoots his Elephant the most important thing to remember is too stand perfectly still.
The following day Steve and his guide went on there hunt everything was going along just as expected. They ended up spotting the herd and a nice Mature Bull they even were able to get within bow range of the trophy Bull the were after. It was basically a text book hunt up to that point.
Steve takes the opportunity draws his bow and releases a arrow. His shot placement was good but the arrow only penetrated the Elephant several inchs.....Remembering his guides advice Steve stood perfectly still. Almost immediately he hears someone running as he glanced behind him that someone was his guide running his a_ _ off.

Fortunately Steve lived to tell his story, and was able to take a Elephant, at a latter date with his bow.

I think that guide had a reason for giving such an advice..
I'd be tempted to aim at him rather than the elephant next trip -
