patience. And until then, i come here!

I enjoyed Coon hunting. I certainly wouldn't choose it over Deer hunting or my other favorites. Most people that are in it are hounds men they take great pride in owning good dogs capable of treeing coons it's more of a competition amongst their fellow Coon hound owners. In fact they do compete just like others owning various hunting breeds.
I think I appreciated that aspect of the hunt most of all watching the dogs work. I've owned some good show, performance as well as personal protection dogs over the years. So I could relate. Although I personally don't think it would make good sim hunting material.
If I'm not in the woods hunting the second thing I like is talking hunting that's what I'm doing here sharing my hunting experiences from over the years and listening too what others have experienced. What better way of coming up with ideas for a realistic hunting sim

Hello Micah,
Thanks for the reply
I live in Shelby Twp. I'm a bit of a bow hunting fanatic
Don't get me wrong I'll take my H&R ultra slugger or my 0-6 out for a walk now and then but I prefer bow hunting theirs nothing better than getting one in close and executing a accurate shot, it's exhilarating
I've taken Black Bear and Whitetail with a bow.I had a couple good opportunitys on Bucks this season I had a nice 10 at around 20 -25 yards unfortunately he was in some fine brush I could see him clearly but it was dusk and I couldn't see the breaks in the brush that well, so I had too pass. I was able to get a nice shot on a decent 7 pt he walked right in too my drag scent, gave me a broadside, both lungs, on a pass through. It was a text book hunt.
I've taken Bow hunting too the next level over the last year. I'm practicing with my compound at least twice a week. I shoot on a traditional league on Fridays with my wife. We both shoot re curve, no site instinct shooting. Just a stick and a string. I have a long way too go but I'm improving.
I still prefer compounds. I also began shooting a back tension release it's really improving my accuracy. Your forced to focus more. Lately I have been going too 3 D shoots when I have the opportunity.Tell me more about your hunting experiences, your bow etc, when you have a chance. Where are you from here in Michigan?
Thanks for the reply

Hey man absolutely! Its kinduv cool to know that someone who's interested in these types of hunting games lives so close! Hmmm unfortunetly i'm not familiar with Shelby Twp. Is it in the upper part of MI or lower? I myself live in a little city called Fennville, most people never heard of it. Its about 30min from Holland and 45min from GrandRapids.
Haha from u talking about your .30-06 i'm assuming u do live farther up north! Cause down here where i live anything bigger than a muzzleloader is illegal. Yea i am a huge bow fan! Ever since i started to play hunting games many years back with bows i just fell in love. Unfortunetly i haven't had the experience of shooting anything with it yet
For years i've always wanted a bow but never had the funds to purchase one. So while i was saving i read up on bows, wrote a research paper about them, saftey heck u name it i read it/watched it! So when i finally could get one i'd know everything (or atleast mostly everything) about it. So just recently (2-3 months ago) i finally bought a nice Bear Gameover 70lber!! And let me tell u! I've been in heaven ever since! And since i read up on it and watched countless amounts of videos my very first arrow that flew from my bow at 20 yards nailed the bullseye!! Now after hundereds of shots i've only completely missed the target twice.
Ontop of that my dad has a friend that has been bow hunting for years and years, we got to go over to his store and have him show me some helpful tips and what not. Hey theres always more to learn! But yea, i'm gonna get a deer with it this year i can just feel it!
Whew....from what i've read u sure have had alot of experience with bows! I'd love to learn even more if sometime we could chat or somthin? U play TH right? And when maybe both of us are picked for Rangers one day, we could both hunt in Hunters World! Aw man that'd be fun! 2 people going out to take down those deer with their bow....now that would be fun!

Re: Night Time
Hi Micah77,
The primary area I hunt is Calhoon county, more specifically the Battle Creek area. I have a Deer lease there. I don't think that's too far from the Holland area.
I also rifle hunt late season in the Traverse City area we generally spend a few days on Thanksgiving week there with my sister and her Husband and family.
My hunting season this year started in northern Iron Mountain MI. on a Bear bow hunt, I then visited and hunted with a client in Minnesota, after that I hunted my deer lease in Calhoon several times....so my season started in Sept and ended Jan 1st. So I get around quite a bit, and have been blessed to be able to hunt, as much as I have.
Shelby twp is in SE Michigan about 45 minutes north east of Detroit. Let's chat soon
